Eat & Drink
We are lucky enough to have a myriad of dining options in the area. Here are a few of our favourites.
The Colintraive Hotel
The Colintraive Hotel is just over 3 miles away. The hotel is really a cosy pub with sea views and a wood burning stove, serving fantastic local seafood, meat and game.
Inver
Inver is an award winning restaurant about 20 minutes drive from Loch Riddon Bothy on the shores of Loch Fyne with views to old Castle Lachlan.
People come from far and wide to sample Pam Bruntonโs cooking. She uses a huge range of cooking techniques and sources the best produce much of it from the immediate area. Meals are a contemporary take on traditional and forgotten dishes.
The Oystercatcher
The Oystercatcher at Otter Ferry, a 20 minute drive from Loch Riddon Bothy, has a world class location on the shores of Loch Fyne. Great for eating in by the fire on a dreich day or for sitting at one of the outside tables when the weather is fine.
Local food shops
The shop and Post Office attached to our local hotel usually supplies the basics; eggs, bread, milk etc. It has a selection of tinned and frozen ingredients as well as some ready meals. It also supplies newspapers and a small selection of locally made goods. It is open from 9:00 - 12:00 every day.
There is an excellent and larger Village Store at Kames, a 20 minute drive away.
Dunoon is a little further but has all the shops you would expect a small town to have.
Fynest Fish is a food delivery service which delivers to Springfield on Wednesdays. In spite of its name it sells a huge variety of food products as well as delicious fish and shellfish.
