Tighnabruaich Gallery

This weekend sees the Tighnabruaich Gallery opening for 2023.

Guests at Loch Riddon Bothy will probably want to spend some time heading over to Tighnabraich to visit this amazing Art Gallery.  It takes 20 minutes by car from the Bothy and can be part of a brilliant day out.

Its cheerful turquoise exterior just makes you want to dive in and that’s what I suggest you do.  Tighnabruaich Gallery works on so many levels; visually appealing; frequently changing exhibitions showcasing a wide range of artists in different mediums; a truly welcoming space and a place where local children can come and explore the world of art.

Ros McKenna and her husband Neil took over the gallery in 2017.  The space is divided into four main areas with two areas devoted to displaying work of the artist currently highlighted and the other two being an extensive collection of paintings, textiles, ceramics and glass.  Everything is available on the comprehensive online shop too.

A mixture of ceramics and paintings

The Gallery always appears bright and fresh flowers in jam jars are often found hanging from pieces of driftwood found on the beach.

Fresh flowers to greet Gallery visitors

‘We aim to bring a range of dynamic and engaging works to rural

Scotland including contemporary art and crafts from a range of

  established and emerging talents.’

Ros

The Gallery is situated in the heart of the scenic coastal village of Tighnabruaich.  It is so easy to combine a visit with a wonderful walk and Ros is happy to give you suggestions as to where to head to.
